Itineraries

Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On arrival at the Kigali Airport, you will be met by our safari guide who will transfer you to Volcanoes National Park. The journey to the North goes through the beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape and the beautiful breathtaking land of over 1000 hills. Overnight at Muhavura for budget, le bambo hotel for mid range or Virunga lodge for luxury

Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters of Parc National des Volcans. There you will be briefed by the ranger guides; with packed lunch you will then start the gorilla trekking through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga. You may have an optional of visiting ibyiwacu ex pocher,s village for cultural performance after tracking. Overnight at Muhavura for budget, le bambo hotel for mid range or Virunga lodge for luxury.

Golden monkey tracking in Volcanoes National Park and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park for overnight

After breakfast, you will go for Golden monkey tracking which will take you approximately 2-3 hours. These golden monkeys are the most endangered primates in the Volcanoes. After the trek you will drive to Nyungwe National Park having stops along the way for photographs and en-route Lunch. Nyungwe Forest is the largest montane forest in Central Africa with 13 species of primates these include chimpanzee and large groups of Rwenzori colobus. Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park is on steep slippery hillsides and viewing is unpredictable. Around 300 bird species, orchids and butterflies are other attractions. Dinner and overnight at stay Nyungwe Forest Lodge(Luxury). Top hill view hotel for mid range, or Gisakula lodge for budget accommodation.

Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast transfer to the park headquarters and attend to a briefing from the park warden on do’s and don’ts while tracking chimps. Then will then transfer to the starting point of the chimpanzee hiking trail. Expect to meet Chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, baboons along the trail. Return to the lodge for relaxation, or you can choose to go for guided natural walk in Nyungwe forest NP. Dinner and overnight at stay Nyungwe Forest Lodge (Luxury). Top hill view hotel for mid range, or Gisakula lodge for budget accommodation.

Transfer to the Airport for your departure flight out to end the 5 Days Rwanda Primates Safari
